Finance Director Germany (m/f/d)

Friendsurance is looking for a dedicated Finance Director (m/f/d) for our dynamic and close‑knit finance team. As Finance Director, you will play a central role in the operational financial and legal leadership of our company. We are looking for a responsible leader with a hands-on mentality and a strong eye for efficient processes, who shares our vision and actively contributes to the further development of Friendsurance. • You are part of the extended management team and are responsible for operational excellence in the finance area:

  • Optimization and automation of accounting processes (especially AP/AR)

  • Ensuring the scalability of financial processes for future growth

  • Supporting business planning and profitability analyses

• You lead the Finance & Legal team and, together with them, you are responsible for all recurring financial topics, such as:

  • Monthly financial statements and VAT pre‑filings – with the goal of making the closing process continuously faster and leaner

  • Annual financial statements and their audit

  • Invoicing and payment transactions (AP/AR)

  • Controlling and reporting to management

• You are able to analyze, evaluate and automate existing finance processes at high speed.

• You prepare business cases for upcoming new projects and evaluate commercial contracts from a financial perspective.

• You manage our Legal Counsel and jointly make decisions on various legal topics in the company. In doing so, you are in close and continuous exchange with the management team in order to stay informed about all relevant updates and measures and to support their implementation.

• You bring your finance- and data‑driven perspective into discussions with management and other team members.

• You are a point of contact for external stakeholders such as tax advisors and auditors.

• You already have several years of experience as Head of Finance or Controller in a scale‑up or fast‑growing startup, including leadership experience

• You work hands‑on and have a passion for making processes more efficient, automated and scalable

• You enjoy leading a team and organizing finance and controlling processes in equal measure

• You are confident working with HGB and IFRS accounting standards and have solid knowledge of German tax law

• You have a good understanding of financial modeling and data analysis

• You have experience in automating accounting tools/systems.
